SuperSport United outcast to play CAF Champions League with West African giants

Despite being off the pitch for over 18 months, the SuperSport United FC outcast is set to play CAF Champions League with West African giants.

SuperSport United outcast Kudakwashe Mahachi has joined Ghanaian giants Medeama SC on a one-year contract.

Kudakwashe Mahachi returns to the pitch after struggling for 18 months to find a club after being released by SuperSport United.

SUPERSPORT UNITED OUTCAST JOINS WEST AFRICAN GIANTS

Kudakwashe Mahachi’s signing was reportedly completed on 31 July 2023. The club has since announced the star as their new player and has been spotted training with the club.

However, his transfer has been regarded as one of the biggest transfers in the club’s history despite both parties keeping the fee under wraps.

Medeama SC won the Ghanaian 2022 – 2023 season. The Ghanaian Champions have since started preparing for the upcoming CAF Champions League.

The club boasts of season African stars, which include prolific striker Osah Bernardinho Tettah who is on a three-year contract with the club.

With his move to Medeama, Kudakwashe Mahachi becomes the first Zimbabwean to play in the Ghanaian Premier League.

CAREER WOES

In 2022 the Zimbabwean talisman was released by SuperSport United in the backdrop of his court woes back in Zimbabwe.

The star was accused of attempted murder and abuse of his son; however, the courts later acquitted him, but his career had already taken a knock from the allegations.

Since 2022 he hasn’t played any competitive club football. Against the backdrop of his court cases, he repeatedly tried his luck with Maritzburg, but he failed to impress. However, he has joined the reigning Ghanaian champions on a one-year contract.

  • Golden Arrows
