A young Australian surfer, Jed Gradisen, got the fright of his life when a dolphin came flying through the air straight at him.

Jed managed to jump aside but he still connected with the dolphin… and its nose went through his board. “That must have hurt a bit,” said Jed.

The flying dolphin incident took place in Western Australia. Jed said the dolphin “was just as shocked as I was”.

The 13-year-old can be grateful it was a dolphin and not a shark like the one Aussie surfer Mick Fanning bumped into in the waves in Jeffrey’s Bay, South Africa, last year!
