There’s been an outpouring of rage and disappointment from many in the world since America’s President, Donald Trump, announced on Thursday that he is withdrawing the United States from the ground-breaking Paris climate agreement… which was signed in 2015 by an unprecedented number of countries, united to find a way to save the planet from further man-made global warming. Here are four of the reactions going viral:

1. South Africa’s Trevor Noah on The Daily Show

Trevor tried to explain to Trump that climate change is like when you tell your girlfriend that her friend is hot… that problem is manmade and you can’t go back on it, just like climate change. He also pointed out all the countries – some incredibly unlikely, like Israel and Palestine – that united in agreement that the future of the planet needed action to be saved. (Only Syria and Nicaragua did not sign, the latter because they felt even more was required to overcome climate change.)

Noah also said: “President Trump tells nature to go f*** itself while standing in a garden.” (To see that and Trump’s rather childlike announcement – watch the full video at the bottom of the page.)

2. France’s President Emmanuel Macron made fun of Trump whilst delivering a serious message

In his own late night tweets, President Macron tweeted in the early hours of Friday morning: “Make Our Planet Great Again”… a play on Trump’s own slogan of making America great again.

Macron also posted a video message pledging his country’s commitment to the agreement. He said: “To all scientists, engineers, engineers, entrepreneurs, responsible citizens who were disappointed by the decision of the United States, I want to say that they will find in France a second homeland… I call on them: Come and work here with us — to work together on concrete solutions for our climate, our environment. I can assure you, France will not give up the fight.”

3. Arnold Schwarzenegger tells Trump only he can revisit the Past

Former Governor of California, and Hollywood movie star, Arnold Schwarzenegger, told Trump to stop being scared of the future… and pointed out how during his tenure California implemented the strictest environmental rules in the USA, when Washington failed to lead, and today California is not only number one in protecting the environment, but also number one in economic growth.

4. South African-born and raised Elon Musk quit Trump’s economic advisory council

After Trump’s announcement, Musk said he can no longer work on Trump’s council. “Climate change is real. Leaving Paris is no good for America or the world.”

Towards the end this clip includes Trump’s announcement… when he (quite childishly?) says America doesn’t want the rest of the world to laugh at them?!
