At the start of The Kiffness’ new song – Pratig Meisie – it says: “We shot this video in the hope that the Afrikaans singer portrayed as ‘pragtig meisie‘ (‘pretty girl’) would enjoy this video and give us permission to use her face.
“Unfortunately we did not get her permission. Instead of reshooting, we decided to change the face to another Afrikaans singer whose opinion we didn’t care much for.”
The singer is Steve Hofmeyr… and with his face plastered on the top of a life size doll, it makes the video strangely addictive to watch. The lyrics are also full of typical Kiffness (David Scott’s) humour… as he signs about being an English guy in love with an Afrikaans girl…
