Former Miss South Africa is Now Officially Doctor Tamaryn Green

Miss South Africa 2018 Tamaryn Green has a new title – Doctor Green! Yesterday she announced, after receiving her university exam results, that she is now officially a dcotor.

In a joyful message on social media, liked by thousands of fans, Tamaryn said: “It’s official, results are out. You can call me Dr Tamaryn Green 😁. All the glory to God!”

The South African model, beauty pageant titleholder and Miss University 2018 runner-up had to temporarily put her studies on hold when she moved to Johannesburg for her year as Miss South Africa… but she kept her promise to continue her studies when her reign was complete.

Yesterday her passion, hard work and determination paid off as the University of Cape Town student is now officially a doctor with a MBChB degree in Medicine and Surgery.

The 25-year-old has already been doing so much for South Africans in the medical sphere by raising awareness about TB and the need for early diagnosis. To help patients, Tamaryn revealed last year that she herself was diagnosed with TB in 2015 but had kept it secret because of the stigma attached to it. She’s on a mission to eradicate that shame and discrimination.
