It’s Ibanathi’s fourth birthday on 29 March. All her fans between the ages of three and 10 had been invited to a party in KwaZulu-Natal, but with COVID-19 in South Africa, and the rules prohibiting gatherings of 100 people, it won’t be happening.
Ibanathi already has a huge following – her father has over 74,600 followers on Instagram (where he posts videos with her); and her own dedicated page has over 6,500. On her page she’s described as “Full of life. A power house🌟”
Her father says the amount of love and support towards his daughter amazes him every time. “I was recently In eSwatini and people kept asking me where sisi is, same thing in Mozambique. Your support and love is highly appreciated,” he says.

If you won’t listen now, I don’t know when. We can help minimize the spread of Corona Virus by simply listening to what Ibanathi is telling us, wash your hands with hand sanitizer or water and soap. Imagining receiving such message from a 3 year old who’s turning 4 on 29 March, we better listen to our children #CountDownTo29March even though we won’t be able to have a party due to this virus and the prohibition of gatherings with more than 100 people. @ibanathi_mpungose #IbanathiMpungose
