Call them the Polar Bears of Cape Town, equivalent of the swimmers and fanatics around the world who like icy water. On Sundays you can see them at Camps Bay and yesterday the temperature was 10 degrees… cold even for the Cape Atlantic. Which made them Polar Bears. Except usually Polar Bears just run in and out. These guys and gals stayed in to swim!
A few had wetsuits but almost everyone else was in a Speedo. A few screams and yelps were heard as they entered the water. And then they were off swimming across the bay. The wind was blowing off-shore making conditions even chillier!
