kulula.com has launched a domestic sale in the romantic month of February to promote the love for local travel this year. Making sure ‘love is in the air’, the ‘sale at first sight’ promotion offers special fares until Thursday (4 Feb) – from as low as R354.

The airline says: “With 347 800 seats on offer across all its domestic routes, kulula fans can visit the people and places they love most, with travel dates stretching as far as 30 November 2021.”

Given the recent downward trajectory in infections, the promotion will aim to provide those customers who had to postpone their December plans with an ideal opportunity to book flights for that well-deserved local holiday on any of kulula’s five domestic routes, whilst celebrating their love for local travel.

Brian Kitchin, Sales and Marketing executive at kulula.com said: “After the year we’ve all had we know people are thinking about holidays and spending quality time with loved ones now more than ever, and this is the inspiration behind our campaign. It is for this reason that we are pleased to be able to offer one-way fares for as low as R354.”

Local holiday breaks in South Africa:

South Africans who would like to take the airline up on these offers can take a look at the below suggestions of what’s on offer:

Family holiday in SA

For those looking for a family holiday, look no further than Durban with one-way fares from R354. The eastern coastline of South Africa not only offers great weather all year around for lots of outdoor time with the kids, but it also boasts some fantastic family favourites including uShaka Marine World, Sugar Rush Adventure Park near Ballito, the Umgeni River Bird Park and the brand-new extended Durban Golden-Mile.

Relaxing, romantic break

If it is a relaxing, romantic break that you need to sweep your loved one off their feet then plan a trip to the Mother City with fares starting at R480. Fall deeper in love with the picturesque beauty that only Cape Town can offer. Hold hands and breathe in the fresh sea air along the iconic Sea Point Promenade, picnic with the birds and the bees at the exquisite Harold Porter National Botanical Garden in Betty’s Bay, get a couple’s massage at the 12 Apostles or set out on a sunset cruise from the V & A waterfront.

Eastern Cape’s hidden gems to explore

The Eastern Cape is the ideal destination for those who want to explore some hidden gems and exhilarating adventures. With fares from R492 to George and R423 to East London, travellers can get their blood pumping with a Kayak & Lilo excursion up the Storms River gorge, snorkel and explore the underwater world at beautiful Sardinia Bay in Port Elizabeth, hike through indigenous forests and take in the beautiful mountain views on one of the various Tsitsikama Trails. Just a 30-minute drive from George in the Western Cape, thrill seekers can go over the world’s longest over-ocean zip line in Mossel Bay.

Joburg’s cosmopolitan vibe

Joburg’s cosmopolitan vibe can be appealing for those who have been too quiet during lockdown. Fly up to the city of Gold with one-way fares from R354. Get lost in the city that never sleeps by taking a micro-adventure tour as you explore some old parts of the city that has received a new lease on life like Constitutional Hill, Bungee Jump off the Orlando Towers, explore the inner-city’s quirky style and food in Maboneng or just a short drive from the city one will find the birthplace of humanity, as it is known at Maropeng.
