Panel beater claims his portion of R79 million Lotto jackpot
The second winner of this month’s R78 97 677.80 Lotto jackpot has stepped forward to claim his prize.

ITHUBA, the National Lottery operator in South Africa, has confirmed that the second winner of the R78 977 677.80 Lotto jackpot from draw number 2551 on Wednesday, 18 June 2025, has claimed his R39 488 838.90 prize.
The winner, who remains anonymous, placed a R200 wager using the Quick Pick method through the Standard Bank banking app.
The winning numbers were 10, 13, 27, 30, 38, 39, with 16 as the bonus ball.
The first winner, who purchased her winning ticket at a Day and Night Superstore in Johannesburg with a R30 wager, also using the Quick Pick selection method, came forward to collect her money earlier this week.
Call from his bank
The second winner said he found out he won when he received a call from his bank notifying him of his winnings.
“I just found out, and it feels absolutely surreal,” he said.
The winner, who works as a panel beater, says he plays the National Lottery games every week and has never won such a significant amount of money.
He stated, “Although I’m a regular player, the thought of winning always sounded so far-fetched, but I had hope. Now, here I am, a multi-millionaire Lotto jackpot winner!”
He added, “I immediately called my wife to inform her of this stroke of luck.”
He shared that while he does not yet have a detailed plan for his winnings, he intends to make a significant change in his and his family’s life.
“I plan to invest a significant amount of the winnings and donate some to a charitable cause,” he said.
“I love riding my bike in my spare time; this win definitely gives me more freedom to explore my passions without limit.”
ITHUBA CEO, Charmaine Mabuza, said: “Both winners have finally come forward to claim their winnings!
“This winner is still wrapping his head around his new multi-million status, and we plan on helping him every step of the way.
“This new financial reality can be overwhelming, which is why at ITHUBA, we are only passionate about responsible playing, but responsible winning too.”
