Star Springbok wing Cheslin Kolbe showcased his brilliance by scoring two tries in South Africa’s record-breaking 43-10 win over New Zealand in Wellington last Saturday.

Damian Willemse, Kwagga Smith, RG Snyman, and Andre Esterhuizen also added their names to the try-scorers list.

Playing his 44th Test, Kolbe climbed into a tie for 12th place on the all-time Springbok try-scorers list, joining former wing James Small.

Small played in 47 Tests before hanging up his boots.

One more try will see Kolbe tie Pieter Rossouw and Kurt-Lee Arendse.

In addition to scoring 20 tries, Kolbe has kicked three conversions and five penalties in the green and gold jersey, taking his total Test points to 121 and placing him 24th on the all-time Springbok points scorers list.

Next Test

Kolbe will in all likelihood, get the opportunity to add to his try tally in the Springboks’ next Rugby Championship Test against Argentina at Hollywoodbets Kings Park on Saturday, 27 September.

Kick-off is at 17:10 (SA time).

This comes after the 31-year-old was named in coach Rassie Erasmus’s 33-man squad for the clash in Durban as well as the away match against the Pumas which will be held at the Allianz Stadium in Twickenham a week later.

Meanwhile, Damian Willemse’s try was his sixth in what was his 43rd Test, while Kwagga Smith dotted down for his 11th try in his 57th Test.

RG Snyman’s five-pointer was his third in what was his 44th Test and Andre Esterhuizen’s late try was just his second in his 23 Tests to date.
