
8-hour planned power outage rescheduled
City Power Johannesburg has rescheduled an 8-hour planned power outage that was set to affect more than 10 areas in the city.

City Power Johannesburg has rescheduled an 8-hour power outage that the city planned to implement as part of its electricity maintenance.
Initially, the power outage was scheduled for Saturday, 20 September 2025, but it has been rescheduled to Wednesday, 24 September 2025.
City Power cautioned its customers to treat their electricity supply points as live, as the supply can be restored at any time.
POWER OUTAGE RESCHEDULED
At Heriotdale Substation, the power outage has been rescheduled to Wednesday, 24 September 2025, from 8:00 to 16:00. These are the areas that will be affected by the power outage:
- Heriotdale
- Heriotdale Extensions 5
- Heriotdale Extension 6
- Heriotdale Extension 7
- Heriotdale Extension 8
- Heriotdale Extension 9
- Doornfontein
- New Doornfontein
- Benrose Ext. 7
- Denver
- Denver Extensions 1
- Denver Extension 9
At Alexandra Substation, the power outage will occur on Wednesday, 24 September 2025, from 9:00 to 17:00 in these areas:
- River Park Drive
- Sweet Williams Street
- River Park Café
CITY POWER FACING NETWORK CONNECTIVITY ISSUES
City Power is currently experiencing network connectivity issues affecting its ICT systems.
According to City Power, various services were impacted, including prepaid electricity vending, metering systems, City Power website, web fault, vendor invoice upload, and all telephone lines.
Additionally, communication and internal processes may be affected, as they may be slower than usual.
