KwaZulu-Natal set for cloudy skies and rain
KwaZulu-Natal will experience cloudy skies, light rain, and a warning for heavy, disruptive downpours, as temperatures drop across the province today.

KwaZulu-Natal residents woke up to cloudy skies and drizzle on Thursday, with Durban reaching a high of just 19°C and Pietermaritzburg experiencing similar wet conditions.
Forecaster Joel Guy explained, “We are already starting off with cloudy skies with light rain and drizzle in some areas around KwaZulu-Natal.”
Warning for disruptive heavy rain in parts of KwaZulu-Natal
The northeastern areas of KwaZulu-Natal face the highest risk of disruptive heavy rainfall. Authorities urge residents to remain alert, especially in flood-prone communities.
Guy cautioned, “Possible disruptive heavy rains are expected for the northeastern areas of KwaZulu-Natal. Be careful if you find yourselves in those parts of the country.”
The system moving inland is likely to intensify thunderstorms through the afternoon, raising risks of local flooding.
Temperatures drop as rain persists
Temperatures across the province will stay cooler than in recent days, with Durban topping out at 19°C and inland areas barely reaching the mid-teens.
Guy noted, “It will also be a wet and cold for Durban and Pietermaritzburg, peaking at just 19°C.”
