And Campbell made an appearance in the 82nd minute with his team trailing Spanish giants Atleti by 3-2.

The Bafana Bafana attacker again proved influential as he came off the bench to cause havoc in the final third.

Club Brugge technical team introduced Campbell almost immediately after conceding a third goal in the 79th minute.

But before then, Atletico Madrid had given Club Brugge a scare with a 2-0 lead before the interval.

Julian Alvarez opened the scoring from the penalty spot before Ademola Lookman made it 2-0 on the stroke of halftime.

However, Club Brugge rallied in the second half, reducing the deficit through Raphael Onyedika before Nicolo Tresoldi drew them level.

Atletico Madrid thought they had stolen victory when Joel Ordonez netted an own goal in the 79th minute.

And almost immediately, Campbell entered the fray as Club Brugge looked for an equaliser which came in the 89th minute through Christos Tzolis.
