SABC warns the public about fake TV Licence emails
The SABC has warned the public about a fraudulent email chain sent out threatening to arrest people for unpaid TV licences.
The South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) has issued a warning to the public about fraudulent emails masquerading as correspondence from the broadcaster about TV licences.
The emails, supposedly from the address jjm@mega.bw (TV Licence Board), threaten recipients with arrest warrants for non-payment of TV licence fees.

It is important for the public to disregard any communication received from the aforementioned email address, as it does not represent the broadcaster.
The corporation affirms that it does not engage in the practice of issuing threats of arrest to individuals regarding TV licence payments.

“SABC also advises the public not to download any statement from this fake email as instructed,” said the broadcaster.
