Renewing your vehicle licence is easier than ever in 2024, thanks to an innovative new WhatsApp service. So, if you’re one of the hundreds of thousands of motorists tasked with renewing your vehicle licence in 2024, here’s how it works …

The vehicle renewal service is called Disky, and it offers a no-fuss WhatsApp chatbot to help you when renewing your vehicle licence. However, we wanted to find out if there are any alternatives to their WhatsApp service in South Africa.

Disky is straightforward. You can use it for personal or a fleet of business-registered vehicles. All you need to do is follow the link HERE and chat to the Disky chatbot.

  • From the website, click the Disky WhatsApp chatbot.
  • Choose Instant Quote from the menu.
  • Follow the prompts and provide details for renewing your vehicle licence.
  • Upload documents from your smartphone (via photos).
  • Make payment to secure the service with an admin fee of R169.
  • Payment methods include debit/credit cards, Zapper and OZOW.
  • Your renewed license disc will be delivered within seven working days to your preferred address.

ARE THERE OTHER WHATSAPP SERVICES IN SA?

Now that Disky has proven just how easy renewing a vehicle licence with WhatsApp can be, which other companies offer a similar service?

ChatBack.co.za – Visit their website and scan the QR code or WhatsApp ‘Renew’ to +27 66 202 6685. Alternatively, you can SMS ‘Renew’ to 44155. There is a R300 service fee and R110 license disc delivery fee, so R410 in total.

Supa Quick – Pop into any participating Supa Quick store and scan the QR code to renew your vehicle licence while you wait. This happens to be the same Disky service, so the admin fees is R169.  

THERE ARE CHEAPER WAYS

Mind you, there are a host of other cheaper vehicle licence renewal services, like the South African Post Office, PayCity, eNATIS and e-Services. All you have to do to save a buck is put in a little more legwork.
