ASAP ROCKY PLEADS NOT GUILTY

The rapper’s plea comes after a judge noted in November 2023 that there was enough evidence to stand trial for allegations involving a 2021 incident ASAP Rocky had his former friend and plaintiff ASAP Relli.

ASAP Rocky is accused of firing a semi-automatic handgun at his former friend Relli during a heated argument. He is currently being charged with two counts of assault with a semi-automatic firearm and one count of personal use of a firearm in the November 2021 shooting in Hollywood, California.

After the arraignment, Rocky’s defence attorney Joe Tacopina told reporters that the rapper is looking forward to putting the case behind him so that he could “start enjoying his family”.

As per the Guardian Joe Tacopina shared that he and his client have not discussed the possibility of conviction.

“We have a lot of evidence that we have a strong suspicion the prosecutors don’t know about”, the rapper’s attorney said outside court in downtown Los Angeles.

‘DEFENDANT GENERALLY DENIES EACH AND EVERY ALLEGATION’

In November 2022 A$AP Rocky was arrested on the accusations that he shot his former friend, Terell Ephron aka ASAP Relli. In November 2021 Relli testified that Rocky pulled a gun on him and alleged that the rapper later fired shots that grazed his knuckles.

Relli filed a civil suit for assault, battery and emotional distress against ASAP Rocky.

The next hearing for the rapper’s case is scheduled for the 6 March 2024.

ASAP Rocky’s attorneys have since denied all Relli’s version of events in a response statement.

The statement read: “Defendant generally denies each and every allegation of the complaint, and specifically denies that Plaintiff has been damaged in any amount or in any way as a result of any act or omission of answering defendant”.
