PRAISE FOR ‘CLASSY’ SPRINGBOKS STAR

Following the move, a family friend of Benje Momberg praised Damian Willemse for his kind and thoughtful message.

Brenden Nel tweeted: “He wrote Benje’s name on his arm. He played for him and sent a message the only way he could.

“The smallest gesture meant so much. This is class. This is why these players mean so much. They will never shout it out to the rooftops but they are class. Thank you”

And many Springbok fans were in agreement with Nel’s sentiments.

@Praetor27138537: “This is why we love rugby and the Springboks. They’re the best of us, and when they win, we win. No matter our struggles, when they win, if only for a moment, it seems as though all is right with the world”

@KFwines: “Such an awesome response to such a sad occasion. Well done guys – love you”. – Twitter
