KEKE PALMER OPENS UP ABOUT HER CHILDHOOD

On Monday, 13 December Keke Palmer took to Instagram sharing a throwback photo from her pregnancy last year.

In the caption Keke talks about her childhood, and reminisces on motherhood, as what she describes as a “beautiful experience”.

“Reminiscing on this beautiful experience in my life!, Keke opened up her post.

The actress also revealed that she recently had a “great epiphany” during a therapy session. Keke further explains how at 12-years-old she bared her family’s financial responsibility, because she was a child actor.

‘IT CAUSED ME ALOT OF PAIN’

Despite taking great pride in this responsibility, Keke shares that it caused her a lot of pain, because she had to grow up very quickly and abandon her childhood.

“Which I took great pride in because I knew what it would do for generations to come and a huge blessing that I could even help out. However, it caused me a lot of pain because I essentially had to abandon my childhood feelings and desires, becoming like a parentalized child…”

The singer also shares how the responsibility she carried as a 12-year-old girl, is now helping her through the ebbs and flows of motherhood.

“Life can be such a tragic comedy because how funny is it… that now becoming an actual parent, and the responsibility I’ve always carried being more valid now than ever, has in fact given me the chance to feel what it’s like to be a kid again”, Keke noted.

Keke Palmer continued: “I get a chance to explore a lot of the things I missed out on with my son. His freedom is like, the most priceless gift to me. He is already teaching me so much, it’s like he awakened the little me inside that I thought was long gone”.
