King Charles discharged three days after prostrate surgery

King Charles has returned home after undergoing surgery for an enlarged prostrate. Here’s what we know….

Buckingham Palace announced that King Charles has left hospital three days after his prostrate surgery on 26 January.

KING CHARLES LEAVES HOSPITAL THREE DAYS AFTER SURGERY

King Charles has been discharged from London Clinic three days after he underwent surgery for an enlarged prostrate on 26 January, announced by Buckingham Palace.

“The King was this afternoon discharged from hospital following planned medical treatment and has rescheduled forthcoming public engagements to allow for a period of private recuperation,” read the statement.

“He would like to thank the medical team and all those involved in supporting his hospital visit, and is grateful for all the kind messages he has received in recent days,” the statement continued.

People reports that the monarch left the hospital’s front entrance alongside his wife, Queen Camilla as he walked towards his awaiting car.

PLANNED ‘CORRECTIVE PROCEDURE’

While his daughter-in-law surprised those closer to her with her surgery, King Charles had previously announced his. On 17 January, Buckingham Palace announced that Charles would be seeking surgery for an enlarged prostrate and would be going to the hospital for “corrective procedure.”

“In common with thousands of men each year, The King has sought treatment for an enlarged prostate. His Majesty’s condition is benign and he will attend hospital next week for a corrective procedure,” read the statement.

“The King’s public engagements will be postponed for a short period of recuperation,” the statement continued.
