It’s officially been a year since the tragic passing of radio and TV personality Mark Pilgrim, who lost his battle with stage four cancer.

But while many mourn the day of his death, others are celebrating his “positive vibes only” spirit.

MARK PILGRIM: FRIENDS AND FIANCEE PAY TRIBUTE

On 5 March 2023, Mark Pilgrim lost his battle with cancer, which he had been diagnosed with just a year earlier.

At the time, Mark – who has previously helmed popular shows on 5FM and Jacaranda FM – was a DJ on Johannesburg station Hot 102.7 FM.

Remembering the legend of the airwaves, the station posted a touching video tribute. “We take a look back at the life and legacy of our friend and colleague, who is sorely missed every day”.

Today marks exactly one year since we lost Mark Pilgrim. The devoted father of two lost his battle with cancer on this day last year at the age of 53. Mark’s fiancee, Adrienne Watkins, also marked the first anniversary of his death with a special social media post.

“My heart hurts so much. It feels like yesterday and, at the same time, an eternity. I think of you every minute of every day and still cant believe that you are gone. I’m so sorry I couldn’t save you”.

FIVE REASONS HE INSPIRED MZANSI

His fighting spirit

Mark was the epitome of a fighter – bravely tackling cancer for the second time in his life. Despite his health prognosis, the star always had a smile on his face and a positive message to share.

“Don’t stop believing” is just one of his popular phrases he lived by.
