It’s going on to two months since Oscar Pistorius was released from prison on parole and he hasn’t been seen anywhere – according to Daily Mail, the former Olympic runner is suffering from anxiety.

OSCAR PISTORIUS IS ALLEGEDLY TOO SCARED TO FACE THE WORLD

The 37-year-old former “blade runner” was released from Atteridgeville Correctional Centre in Pretoria on 5 January. He was sentenced to 13 years and five months in prison for killing his then-girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp. This comes after he gunned her down on Valentin’s Day in 2013.

The former double-amputee athlete is said to have shot Steenkamp four times through a bathroom door in their home with his licensed 9mm pistol. In court, he claimed that he believed there was an intruder on the other side of the door.

According to the publication, since his release from prison, Pistorius has allegedly become a chain smoker and is paranoid that he may be harmed or face public anger. He was released on parole on strict conditions and is currently living on his uncle Arnold’s estate in the upscale suburb of Waterkloof.

A source speaking with the publication said Pistorius nowadays spends his days holed up in his bedroom, reading the bible, playing video games, and watching Premier League football on his television.

Speaking with the publication, Dr Versfeld was also reported to have said that it could take “a long time” before Pistorius will set foot out of his uncle’s estate.

MORE ABOUT THE FORMER BLADE RUNNER’S STATE OF MIND

Oscar Pistorius went into prison as a star and came out as a convicted killer. According to the publication, Alan Retief of Waterkloof was quoted as saying: ‘He [Pistorius] must be rightly scared because he has not been in the public for a very long time… He needs time, a lot of it to help him.”

The blade runner’s parole is set to expire in December 2029.
