Tbo Touch slams City Power, receives response
‘A failed state, a failed government. This is South Africa today,’ wrote a clearly agitated Tbo Touch on his Instagram page.
South African musician Tbo Touch — real name Thabo Molefe has become one of many local stars to call the government out for its lack of service delivery. Heading online, the radio personality slammed City Power for failing to keep the electricity on for extended periods of time.
Surprisingly, he received a response from the power company who recently took over load shedding schedules from a struggling Eskom.
TBO TOUCH SLAMS CITY POWER
South Africans are fed up with the current government and are finding it increasingly harder to keep their discontent to themselves.
Now even media personalities are speaking out and it’s interesting to see. The latest celeb to speak about against the government’s incompetence is radio presenter Tbo Touch.
“A failed state, a failed government. This is South Africa today! 26 hours of no update whatsoever, basic infrastructure such as water and electricity are so depleted they can’t even account,” Tbo Touch lashed out at the City’s officials on social media.
“By the way this Johannesburg’s highest rates and tax community! Wow City Power Joburg, really?’ he wrote in an angry IG post.
AN UNDESIRABLE RESPONSE
Surprisingly enough, he received a response from City Power which explained how they have 358 calls logged due to the outage.
“City Power Hursthill Service Delivery Centre (SDC) is sitting with 358 calls, and 98 of those calls were logged over the past 24-hours. We are currently sitting with 63 Plants that are out of service,” read a statement from City Power.
Meanwhile, many advised Tbo to stop depending on the government and start finding his own solutions just for piece of mind.
