South African actress Diaan Lawrenson became a fan favourite when he played the role of Paula van der Lecq on the popular Afrikaans hit soapie 7de Laan. Since departing from the television show, Diaan has been somewhat under the radar, or so we thought.

WHERE IS DIAAN LAWRENSON NOW?
Contrary to popular belief Diaan is not only an actress, but she has also cultivated a long list of skills in the entertainment industry as a director, producer and scriptwriter. Lawrenson has also worked on a host of television shows, feature films, short films, music videos and theatre productions.
Diaan has starred in 7de Laan, Mooi Rivier, Sink, Jou Romeo, Raaisel Kind, Susters, Table Manners, Spoorloos, Ludik and Runs in the Family to name a few.
The former 7de Laan actress has also co-founded an award-wining production company called Jester Productions.
Jester Productions has been responsible for a plethora of productions in theatre, corporate and industrial theatre, DVD production, film and television.
The production company has also been nominated for various awards including the prestigious Fleur du Cap, Naledi and Fiesta awards. The management of Jester Productions have also won various Awards including SAFTAS, ATKV Veertjie, YOU Spectacular, Tempo, Fleur du Cap and Naledi Awards.

GIRL BOSS
In 2016 Diaan started lecturing at the creative institution AFDA and in 2019 she was appointed as Dean of the AFDA Cape Town campus.
“When I started lecturing at AFDA Cape Town campus I discovered another passion- I realized that I am a student at heart, that I adore being a mentor and so bridging young, dedicated practitioners into the industry”, Diaan shared.
In March of this year, reported by IOL, Diaan obtained her Masters in Fine Arts degree.
“I Graduated Cum Laude yesterday. How special to have my MFA conferred by my friend and mentor”, the artist shared in a post to her Instagram.
Apart from cementing a successful career for herself, Lawrenson has also created a beautiful family for herself. The actor is married to actor Jody Abrahams. Jody and Diaan have been married for nine years and have two children together.
