KWAZULU-NATAL – Seven suspects, including two women who dressed as nurses, have been arrested following a farm attack in Kingsley, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. The suspects apparently pretended to be from the Department of Health in order to gain access to the property.
The incident took place yesterday, Monday 3 August. Swift reaction by police officers from the District Task Team, Dundee SAPS, Kingsley SAPS, K9 Unit as well as local farmers has resulted in the arrest of the seven suspects.
The South African Police Service said in a statement today that two pistols with 13 rounds of ammunition were recovered.
“It is alleged that on 03 August 2020 at 12:30, four people entered a farm in Kingsley, pretending to be from the Department of Health. Two women were wearing the nurses’ uniform. When they were questioned about their visit, they drew firearms and demanded cash,” said SAPS. “The owners were suspicious and managed to alert police.”
The suspects opened fire, before attempting to flee the scene on foot, leaving their vehicle behind. Fortunately police officers arrested the suspects as they fled from the scene.
