Derick Hougaard is expected to reveal all about a bottle of “toxic” medication found in his home – once he is well enough, claims his girlfriend, Nadine.
The former Springboks player has regained consciousness after being in a coma for almost a week. And according to Rapport, Nadine thinks it has something to do with medication found in his home.
According to the publication, a toxicology report revealed that Derick had “elevated levels” of toxin found in his bloodstream. This level has since dropped over time.

DERICK HOUGAARD MYSTERY BOTTLE FOUND
According to Rapport, a half-bottle of medication without a label – reportedly cough syrup – was found in his Pretoria East home. Derek was found unresponsive by Nadine on Saturday, 10 June, when he was admitted into the Steve Biko Academic Hospital’s ICU division.

“Nadine was worried someone gave him cough medicine, which was toxic to him,” a source told the publication of the incident.
The bottle has been sent to laboratories for testing.
NADINE CLAIMS RUGBY PLAYER WILL TELL-ALL
Speaking to Rapport, Nadine claimed that Derick would reveal who gave him the medication or if he consumed it himself – in due course.

She said: “No one knows what the situation really was or is. Please let Derick speak for himself when the ventilator no longer supports him. Then we can know exactly what happened”.
LOUIS LIEBENBERG SUSPECTS FOUL PLAY
Meanwhile, Derick Hougaard’s controversial friend Louis Liebenberg has voiced his concerns about what he believes is foul play.
He said in Facebook posts over the weekend: “Derick was placed under very strong sedation. It was unnecessary.

He continued: “For six days, the Waarheid Media (his publication) was not notified of his admission or condition. Nor his closest friends.”
Without going into details, Louis claims that something happened on the night before Derick was found unconscious. He also added that he had sought advice from medical personnel, who had agreed with his theories.
He concluded: “Of course, this is Derick’s life and choices. However, I must be a friend to him. I must also protect him in times of crisis.
“I just know too much. Soon, everyone will see exactly what I mean.”
