South African footballer Percy Tau, attacker at Mamelodi Sundowns, was named the footballer of the season on Tuesday night during the PSL (Premier Soccer League) awards.

Tau shared the top goal scorer’s award with Polokwane City player, Rodney Ramagalela. They both scored 11 goals during the season.

Sundowns’ head coach, Pitso Mosimane also walked away with his third Coach of the season award.

Tau went head to head with his teammate Hlompho Kekana and Maritzburg United’s Siphesihle Ndlovu to win the PSL Footballer of the Season award.

However Tau defeated Ndlovu and Musa Nyatama when he won the Player’s Player of the Season category.

Despite the hardships that Kaizer Chiefs went through with the resignation of coach, Steve Kompela, the team’s goal keeper, Itumeleng Khune managed to win Goalkeeper of the Season.
