American pop star Britney Spears has reportedly opened criminal charges against NBA player Victor Wembanyama’s bodyguard. This after he allegedly hit her across the face after she tried to talk to Wembanyama while dining at a Las Vegas hotel. Opening up about the incident, the singer said that she is “not new” to traumatic experiences but “wasn’t prepared” for what happened to her.

The singer also denies “hitting” the player as he claims. Instead, she claims to have “tapped” him on his shoulder to get his attention in the busy environment.

US singer Britney Spears has discussed allegedly getting struck by the bodyguard of NBA player Victor Wembanyama.

According to the Gimme More hitmaker, she spotted the player at her Las Vega hotel and decided to go over and congratulate him on his success.

She says that she tapped the player on his should to get his attention but was struck by his bodyguard in turn.

“I decided to approach him and congratulate him on his success. It was really loud, so I tapped him on the shoulder to get his attention,” she said according to an IOL report.

Wembanyama — who has also addressed reports — says that the singer grabbed him and didn’t tap him like she says she did.

“That person grabbed me from behind — not on my shoulder — she grabbed me from behind. I just know the security pushed her away,” to told ESPN reporters on Thursday this week.

Britney — who says she is not new to traumatic experiences — also says that it was more than just a push.

According to her, the bodyguard backhanded her across the face with so much force that she was almost pushed to the floor and had her glasses fall off.

“His security then back handed me in the face without looking back, in front of a crowd. Nearly knocking me down and causing my glasses off my face.”

The star then remarked that she is often swarmed by fans but never allows her security to hit people.

“I get swarmed by people all the time. In fact, that night. I was swarmed by a group of at least 20 fans. My security team didn’t hit any of them.”

Meanwhile, an investigation into the matter has been opened.
