Elon Musk became the talk of the town after he called on Cyril Ramaphosa to take action against those who are inciting genocide on the white people in South Africa.

Elon’s tweet referred to viral videos of EFF leader Julius Malema chanting the struggle song Kill The Boer at his party’s 10th birthday celebration which took place on 29 July this year.

The tweet sparked instant outrage amongst South Africans who slammed the Tesla and SpaceX founder as “ignorant”.

One of the people who have called Elon out is businessman Vusi Thembekwayo. Taking to Twitter, Vusi expressed disappointment at Elon’s tweet.

“This is not helping. And very disappointing. Educate yourself @elonmusk. Who is “they”? How did you arrive at “white people” only? This “us” versus “them” perspective is exactly what fuels the problem. You’re way to intelligent to have such a reductionist argument or mindset,” he said.

Many have agreed with Vusi. Others have however pointed out how Julius Malema has intentionally caused outrage with song.

“I’m no rocket scientist, but I think it’s probably because Malema specifically sung ‘kill the Boer’,” wrote The Kiffness.

Another app user added:

“I have respect for you Vusi, but on this occasion I disagree with you. Malema singing “kill Boers, kill farmers” incites violence. South African violence is well known internationally, and crime is rampant for all South Africans to suffer. It’s a discussion South Africa needs to have.”
