Mamelodi Sundowns and SuperSport United are believed to have struck an agreement that will see them exchange some players ahead of the new season.

According to the latest reports, Sundowns have put their money where their mouth is with regards to signings Maseko from rivals SuperSport.

Although they’re supposed to be rival institutions, the rivalry between Sundowns and SuperSport seems to exit just on the field of play. Off the field, the two Tshwane-based sides seem to share a good business relationship, with plenty of players moving across the divide, and ultimately benefiting both parties.

Just in recent times, Sundowns have been able to acquire the likes of Aubrey ModibaTeboho Mokoena and Sipho Mbule just to mention the latest players. SuperSport have also benefitted from the relationship having acquiring a decent batch of players on loan from their neighbours such as, Ricardo Goss and Grant Margeman last season.

Previous reports suggested that Sundowns were looking to tempt SuperSport with a R20 million value transfer which included three players going the other way. Should that be true, it could prove to be too good to turn down for Stan Matthews and Gavin Hunt.

It now seems as if Sundowns have gone back to do business with SuperSport and raid them for their latest hot prospect in Maseko. And according to Austin Ditlhobolo of goal.com SA the two Tshwane clubs have reached a deal where players will be exchanged. Magerman has reportedly signed a three-year deal at Matsatsantsa, while Etios Ighodaro is set to be the second player that makes his way to the other side of the divide.

It is believed that, besides the Magerman and Ighodaro side of the deal, it is thought that Sundowns have also added cash to supplement the deal for Maseko. With that, they have managed to beat off any overseas interest in the player.

SUNDOWNS TO UNVEIL MASEKO TODAY?

Furthermore, according to FARPost, Maseko was spotted at Sundowns’ Chloorkop training facilities yesterday. The 20-year-old is set to finally complete his move to the Brazilians from SuperSport United and that could mean, Rulani Mokwena’s side could unveil him as their latest signing as early as today!
