EWN reports that talented actress Lorraine Moropa has scored the role of Mandoza’s wife Mpho Tshabalala in the upcoming biopic Nkalakatha: The Life of Mandoza. She will star alongside Uzalo star Wiseman Mncube, who will play the role of the late kwaito star.

LORRAINE MOROPA: LATEST ROLE

The former The Queen actress Lorraine Moropa took to her Instagram account on Tuesday, 18 July to reveal that she secured the role of Mandoza’s wife Mpho Tshabalala.

“Another answered prayer. Her name is Mpho Tshabalala, Intombi yeNkalakatha. She graces your screens on the 16th of August on @bet_africa.”

“It’s been nothing but a blessing telling her love story and life journey with iSgelekeqe es’focus, uPhunyuka Bamphethe, The icon and superstar Mduduzi “Mandoza” Tshabalala. It’s been an absolute, absolute honour and I’m very humbled. I’m grateful to Mpho Tshabalala for trusting me to tell her story and reflect her life truthfully, thank you to my agent @canvascam , casting directors, channel and everyone that said yes,” said Moropa.

The kwaito legend, real name Mduduzi Tshabalala passed away in 2016, following a long battle with cancer.

The six-part series Nkalakatha: The Life of Mandoza will premiere on BET_Africa on 16 August, according to entertainment commentator Phil Mphela.
