SASSA: How to apply for online grant applications

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) administrates all of South Africa’s social grants. Disability Grants, Childcare Grants, Veteran’s Grants, and other state assistance make up the social security agency’s job.

Social Relief Grants have been available since COVID. You can still apply for yours.

It’s easier to apply online. It can be much faster than waiting.

There’s an easy way.

Here’s how to apply for your social grant using the website.

SASSA ONLINE PORTAL

Find the SASSA online portal at this link.

You can apply for your Social Relief Grant online here. Enter your identification details, and make sure your paperwork is ready. You will need Proof of Residence, Proof of Income, and your Identity Documents.

It’s important to have a linked cellphone number too.

Any South African citizen or refugee without income can qualify.

You will know if you are rejected when your documents are assessed.

SASSA: APRIL’S GRANT PAYMENT DATES

Do you know your grant payment dates for April?

April 2024 social grants have already been confirmed.

• Older Persons (Pensioners) Grants will pay on: 3 April, 2024.
• Disability Grants pay out the next day: 4 April, 2024.
• Childcare, Foster, and In-Aid Grants will pay on: 5 April, 2024.

The SRD Grant pays towards the month’s end.

APRIL’S POSTBANK DEADLINE

Postbank accounts will be phased out in April this year.

SASSA funds can go directly into your bank account. Boxer Superstores, PnP, and other retailers can still withdraw your money.

Phasing out cash payments could make future grant collection easier.
