According to the BarthHaas Report 2022/23 as reported by The Outlier website, South Africa produced 3.3 billion litres of beer in 2022.

In terms of Africa, Nigeria were second (1.8 billion litres) with Ethiopia in third (1.5 billion litres).

Globally, every country pales in comparison to China who lead the way with 36 billion litres, with the United States in second (19.4 billion litres) and Brazil in third (14.7 billion litres).
