South Africans across the country have rushed online to congratulate and celebrate local musician Tyla Seethal. The 22-year-old just became the youngest South African to win a Grammy Award for her hit song ‘Water’. It is also the only award she has won so far — which is quite impressive. Like thousands of locals, President Cyril Ramaphosa also shared well wishes with Tyla who he also thanked for “flying the flag”. As expected, he was swiftly put on blast by disgruntled citizens who are unhappy with Ramaphosa and the ruling party, the African National Congress (ANC). Tyla Seethal is officially South Africa’s youngest Grammy Award winner. The 22-year-old won the award Best African Music Performance for her hit song Water which went viral across the world in 2023.
