The 18 finalists for the 2024 SA Car of the Year have been named and split into several categories. This year marks the 38th edition of the competition.
Garth Napier, MD of Old Mutual Insure, who sponsor the event, said: “Congratulations to the top 18 finalists! We eagerly await the upcoming competition phase, where the contenders will undergo comprehensive testing by COTY’s expert juror group in early March.”
“This rigorous and diverse evaluation will culminate in announcing the competition winners at a gala dinner in May.”

The best cars in every category will be chosen by jurors, according to Primedia.

Budget and Compact – Suzuki Fronx and Citroen C3.
Compact Family – Omoda C5, Suzuki Grand Vitara, and Toyota Urban Cruiser.
Family – BMW X1, and GWM Ora 03.
