SEVENTH SUSPECT ARRESTED IN THE AKA AND TIBZ MURDER CASE, SA REACTS

AKA— real name Kiernan Jarryd Forbes and Tebello ‘Tibz’ Motsoane died in Durban after they were shot on Florida Road on the evening of 10 February, last year.

The duo’s cold murder was captured on CCTV in the area. It showed the final moments the duo shared together before a mysterious gunman walked towards them and fired the gun.

During a press briefing on Tuesday, the Minister of Police Bheki Cele said six suspects linked in the murder case of AKA and Tibz are set to appear in court on Thursday. Just a few hours since the press briefing concluded, another suspect in the investigation has been nabbed.

According to the publication, the latest suspect was arrested in Durban. At the briefing yesterday, Lieutenant-General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi assured South Africans that the South African Police Service together with the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) were happy with the evidence they had gathered so far.

“We are happy together with the NPA and that’s why we are briefing you today. Of course, things happen in court and there are lawyers. They will always twist and turn things and the case may take longer than perhaps we may all want it to take. But, that will be left to the court,” Mkhwanazi said.
