Blitzboks into Cup quarter-finals at Los Angeles Sevens: Face Fiji next

The Springbok Sevens side are through to the Cup quarter-finals at the Los Angeles Sevens despite winning only ONE of their three Pool B matches.

This after being drawn in the easiest of the four pools.

The Blitzboks kicked off their campaign with a scrappy 12-0 win over Canada, but then suffered shock defeats to Uruguay (10-5) and Ireland (14-5).

The Blitzboks will take on Fiji in the quarter-finals on Sunday, 26 February at 20:45 (SA time).

A vast improvement will be needed against the Fijians – who were undefeated in Pool C – should the South African side wish to progress to the semi-finals.

The other quarter-finals will see Samoa face Argentina (20:23), Great Britain against New Zealand (21:07) and Ireland v Australia (21:29).
