
Cape Town plans 10-hour power cut in selected suburbs
Next week, the City of Cape Town will carry out essential electricity infrastructure maintenance, leading to a 10-hour power outage.

The City of Cape Town’s electricity and generation teams will implement a 10-hour power outage in Langa on Thursday, 28 August, from 8:00 to 18:00 to maintain essential infrastructure.
This outage may cause electricity supply interruptions if all goes according to plan.

The City of Cape Town stated that interruptions to the electricity supply will only affect the highlighted area on the maps and will occur only on the specified date.

- Bitterhout
- Rubusana
- Ndabeni
- Harlem
- Bhunga
Likewise, the City of Cape Town has planned a nine-hour power outage in parts of Bellville on Thursday, 18 September, from 7:30 to 16:30, or on 25 September.

POWER COULD BE RESTORED ANYTIME
Moreover, the City of Cape Town warned that electricity supply could be restored at any time and urged customers to treat all electrical installations as live throughout the planned maintenance work.
“Residents are encouraged to switch off appliances as a precaution and to avoid damage caused by power surges when the power comes back on. The City apologises for any inconvenience caused and thanks residents for their cooperation and understanding,” the metro municipality said.
