Cape Town to Kruger: FlySafair announces NEW ROUTE

A new direct route will be launched between Cape Town and Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport near the Kruger National Park.

In some exciting news, FlySafair is launching a new direct route between Cape Town and Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport near the Kruger National Park.

CAPE TO KRUGER: FLYSAFAIR ANNOUNCES NEW ROUTE

This new route will make travel between these two popular tourist destinations more accessible.

The new route is expected to launch on 2 April 2024.

“Although flights to areas surrounding the Kruger National Park are readily available from Johannesburg, there are limited commercial flight options from Cape Town,”said Kirby Gordon, Chief Marketing Officer at FlySafair.

THE NEW ROUTE WILL LAUNCH IN APRIL THIS YEAR

FlySafair will fly twice weekly, departing Cape Town every Tuesday and Saturday morning.

The airline hopes the route enables more travellers to visit both destinations on one trip.

MORE THAN 400 000 PEOPLE VISITED THE WESTERN CAPE IN DECEMBER

Meanwhile, a monthly tourism report compiled by the Western Cape government’s trade, investment and tourism promotion agency, Wesgro, shows more than 400,000 people visited the Western Cape in December.

Table Mountain National Park registered a growth of 21.9% in December from the previous year, Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden saw an increase of 5.5%, and Robben Island of 2.8% during the same period.

TABLE MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK REGISTERED A GROWTH OF 21.9%

Other Western Cape regional attractions include the Harold Porter National Botanical Garden, Cape Agulhas Lighthouse, Arniston Hotel & Spa, Shipwreck Museum, and Panthera Africa, which cumulatively recorded a foot count of nearly 20,000 visitors.

“Our expectations of a record-breaking summer season have been realised. This is excellent news for our provincial economy and for the hundreds of thousands of jobs supported by tourism in the province,”Provincial Minister of Finance and Economic Opportunities Mireille Wenger said in a statement.
