The City of Cape Town’s Water and Sanitation Directorate has announced planned work in specific areas, leading to no water for 7 hours daily.

The City of Cape Town’s Water and Sanitation Directorate has announced planned work in specific areas, leading to no water for 7 hours daily.

While regrettable, this essential maintenance aims to enhance the water supply infrastructure for the benefit of customers. The City urge residents in the affected areas to make necessary preparations.

According to City of Cape Town, “This critical work is essential for the long-term reliability of our water supply system. While we understand the inconvenience it may cause, it is necessary to ensure the continued delivery of safe and reliable water to our residents.”

DAYS AND HOURS OF NO WATER IN VARIOUS AREAS OF CAPE TOWN

Zero-pressure tests (ZPT) and conditional assessments are scheduled as follows:

  • Tuesday, 27 February, from 10:00 until 16:00: Bellville South, Beroma, Glenhaven, Labiance, and Kasselsvlei.
  • Tuesday, 27 February, from 9:00 until 16:00: Polkadraai – Blackheath area.
  • Tuesday, 27 February, from 9:00 until 16:00: A portion of Strand bounded by Algoa Street, De Ruyter Street, Beach Road, and Main Road.
  • Wednesday, 28 February, from 9:00 until 16:00: Somerset Ridge, Westridge, Audas Estate – Somerset West area.
  • Thursday, 29 February, from 9:00 until 16:00: Cherrywood Gardens, Roundhay, Lionviham, Kalamunda, and Audas Estate – (Bizweni) Somerset West area.

THE CITY APOLOGISES FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE CAUSED

The City of Cape Town acknowledges the inconvenience of the daily 7-hour no-water period and advises residents to plan accordingly.

The City appreciates residents’ cooperation as it endeavors to ensure a more robust water supply system for all.
