City of Cape Town confirms load shedding schedule until the weekend

Eskom on Wednesday afternoon confirmed that load shedding will return during the day for the rest of the week – as did the City of Cape Town.

This is due to delays in returning units to service which has hurt available capacity after a period of improved load shedding around the country.

At the time of publishing, Stage 3 load shedding is in operation and will continue until midnight at which point it will be suspended until 05:00 on Friday.

Stage 1 will then kick in and continue until 16:00 on Friday at which point Stage 3 will then again be implemented.

Stage 3: 16:00 to 00:00

Friday, 30 June

Suspended: 00:00 to 05:00

Stage 1: 05:00 to 16:00

Stage 3: 16:00 to 00:00

Meanwhile, the City of Cape Town adjusted its schedule following the Eskom announcement.

At the time of publishing, City of Cape Town customers are experiencing Stage 1 load shedding until midnight.

Thereafter, until 05:00 on Friday, load shedding will be suspended.

From Friday at 05:00 until midnight, Stage 1 will return.
