Eskom plans a 7-hour electricity shutdown in this Cape Town area
Eskom will carry out scheduled maintenance twice in Cape Town this month, causing power outages lasting seven hours each time.

The City of Cape Town confirmed that Eskom will cut power for seven hours to carry out essential electricity infrastructure maintenance.
Eskom plans to perform the maintenance on Friday, 20 June, and Thursday, 26 June, from 8:30 to 16:00, which will cause electricity supply interruptions if everything goes as scheduled.

REMINDER: POWER COULD BE RESTORED ANYTIME
The City of Cape Town warned that Eskom could restore electricity at any time during the planned maintenance and urged customers to treat all electrical installations as live throughout the outage period.
“Residents are encouraged to switch off appliances as a precaution and to avoid damage caused by power surges when the power comes back on.
“The City of Cape Town apologises for any inconvenience caused and thanks residents for their cooperation and understanding,” the metro municipality said.
