eThekwini Municipality to cut water supply for 24 hours in multiple areas

The eThekwini Municipality has announced a 24-hour water supply interruption in several suburbs supplied by the Southern Aqueduct due to planned maintenance.

The maintenance will run from 7:00 on Wednesday, 20 August, until 7:00 on Thursday, 21 August.

ETHEKWINI MUNICIPALITY CONFIRMS 24-HOUR WATER SUPPLY INTERRUPTION IN THESE AREAS

The eThekwini Municipality said it will shut down the Southern Aqueduct to inspect specific sections and allow contractors to complete planned work linking the existing pipeline to the newly laid Southern Aqueduct pipelines as part of the upgrade project.

“It is anticipated that the sectional repair work will be completed by Thursday morning, 21 August. System and reservoirs will thereafter start to recover, and water will be restored,” the eThekwini Municipality said.
