The National Director of Public Prosecutions (NDPP) Advocate Shamila Batohi has reportedly signed the necessary documentation to start the extradition process of two suspects allegedly linked to the murder of ward-winning rapper Kiernan ‘AKA’ Forbes from Eswatini.

The two men are allegedly linked to the murders of Forbes and his friend Tebello ‘Tibz’ Motsoane who were gunned down on 10 February 2023 on Florida Road in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. They were arrested in Mbabane, Eswatini for separate matters.

The two brothers, Malusi and Siyabonga Ndimande, appeared in the Manzini Magistrate’s Court in Eswatini for the second time on Wednesday, 13March.

They will be remanded in custody until the next appearance on 20 March.

On Thursday, 14 March the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) confirmed that the NDPP has signed the documents and they were submitted to the Department of Justice.

“The Department of Justice is the central authority for processing and onward transmission,” NPA spokesperson in KwaZulu-Natal Natasha Ramkisson-Kara told The South African.

FIVE SUSPECTS TO RETURN TO COURT ON 18 MARCH

Meanwhile, the other five suspects appeared in the Durban Magistrate’s Court for a formal bail application.

Lindokuhle Mkhwanazi (30), Lindelani Ndimade (30), Siyanda Myeza (22), Mziwethemba Gwabeni (36), and Lindokuhle Ndimande (29) are charged with conspiracy to commit murder, two counts of murder, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, and five counts of attempted murder.

The matter was postponed to Monday, 18 March, as the court only heard affidavits from accused 1 and 2 — the affidavits of the other three accused were not fully prepared.
