The landmark Regent Building on Sea Point’s busy Regent Road has officially sold in a major R150 million property deal.
The seven-storey, 5 434m² building will undergo a dramatic transformation under its new owner, Quorum Holdings.
Strategically positioned opposite the Mojo Market, the Regent Building occupies one of Cape Town’s most vibrant and valuable strips, making it a highly sought-after asset in both the commercial and residential sectors.
Mixed-Use Development Incoming
Quorum Holdings, known for prominent projects such as Lady Backs (60 apartments on the same street), The Valour in De Waterkant, and Charlie & The Chairman in the CBD, plans to redevelop the property into a modern mixed-use space.
Although official plans have not been released, the developer’s track record indicates it will likely include a mix of upscale residential, retail, and possibly hospitality offerings.
“This acquisition fits perfectly with our long-term strategy of revitalising prime urban areas,” said property broker Ash Muller, noting market excitement around the purchase.
The property’s close proximity to the beach, restaurants, nightlife, and public transport makes it ideal for both residential and commercial tenants.
Impact on the Local Market

With tourism rebounding and the demand for well-located urban living on the rise, stakeholders are optimistic the new project will:

- Drive foot traffic to surrounding businesses
- Enhance the visual appeal of the precinct
