CITY POWER ACHIEVES OVER 86% FOR THE 2024/2025 FINANCIAL YEAR

City Power Johannesburg achieved a record performance of over 86% in the 2024/2025 financial year, despite facing financial challenges including infrastructure vandalism, illegal connections, and rising bulk electricity costs.

For quarter 4 of 2024/25, City Power accomplished 87.5% of its performance target, a 5,68% increase from 81.82%.

During the review period, the power utility connected 3,539 homes to the mains, expanding electricity access in Ivory Park, Orange Farm, and parts of Soweto. Planned maintenance also improved, reaching 54.53%, surpassing the 38% target.

“This performance is the result of collective excellence. Every milestone we have reached, from expanding access to electricity and installing public lights, to resolving audit findings and creating jobs, is a product of the commitment and dedication of the entire City Power team,” said City Power CEO Tshifularo Mashava.
