More low-cost flights set to connect London and Cape Town this summer

Norse Atlantic Airways is adding more budget flights from London to Cape Town this summer after soaring demand pushed the airline to expand its frequency.

Travellers flying between London and Cape Town will enjoy more low-cost options this summer as Norse Atlantic Airways expands its London Gatwick–Cape Town service to six flights per week.

The airline, which first launched the route in October 2024, reported that strong demand exceeded expectations, prompting it to extend the seasonal schedule and increase flight frequency.

More frequency from Norse Atlantic this summer

What began as three flights a week grew to four earlier this year, and now up to six weekly services are set to take off.

Norse Atlantic Airways will extend its seasonal London–Cape Town route beyond the original window, continuing flights through May 2026 instead of ending in April, with the new season starting on 2 October 2025.

Chief Commercial Officer Bård Nordhagen said the airline sees great opportunity in the South African market after the success of its inaugural season last year.

“By expanding services, we wish to show to the trade and consumer markets we are committed to this route.” Nordhagen said.

All flights will be operated using Norse’s modern fleet of Boeing 787 Dreamliners

For UK travellers, the news means more flexibility, more affordable fares, and an easier path to experiencing all that beautiful Cape Town has to offer.
