In a crucial infrastructure maintenance initiative, the city of eThekwini is gearing up to ensure the safety and reliability of its 132 kV overhead line network, particularly focusing on the Ridgeview Substation.

“The work will be done in phases and Phase 1 requires approximately 3 hours to safely perform detailed inspections,” said eThekwini Municipality.

AREAS THAT WILL BE FFECTED

Residents in several areas are advised to brace for temporary inconveniences, as parts of Berea West, Beverley Hills South, Blackhurst, Cato Manor, Ridgeview, and Westville will be directly affected by the maintenance efforts.

Notably, these regions are associated with Block 2A of load shedding, highlighting the importance of this proactive approach to infrastructure upkeep.

EThekwini residents are encouraged to stay informed about the maintenance schedule, and while inconveniences may arise during this essential process, the long-term benefits in terms of a reliable and secure power supply are paramount.

On the other side, eThekwini Electricity has swiftly addressed and resolved a recent technical fault. Restoring full functionality to their Contact Centre services and systems.

Residents can now access assistance seamlessly. Including the Prepaid Electricity Vending System, ensuring a hassle-free experience.

Earlier, there was a temporary unavailability of EThekwini Electricity’s Contact Centre services due to a technical fault. However, the dedicated efforts of the technical team have successfully rectified the issue. Bringing back normal operations.
