Pitso Mosimane reveals whether he will be signing Kaizer Chiefs target Thulani Serero!

Straight after Pitso Mosimane was announced as the new head coach of UAE Pro League side Al Wahda FC, he was linked with signing a Kaizer Chiefs target.

Now, having proven elusive to Chiefs himself, it was believed that Mosimane may hurt them in the transfer window by signing one of their reported big transfer targets.

Mosimane recently parted ways with Saudi Arabian football giants Al Ahli, a side who had found themselves falling all the way to the country’s second division. The former Al Ahly coach then took up the job last year, as he was attracted by the prospect of bringing the club back to its former glories, and awakening a sleeping giant in the process.

Al Ahli had suffered the embarrassment of being relegated for the first time in their illustrious history, but Mosimane was able to secure the 1st division title with four games to spare, meaning their 0-0 draw to conclude the season did not really matter as it affected nothing at all.

But even after that success, Mosimane could be forced to find a job elsewhere, as Al Ahli president Walid Moaz stated that “Pitso Mosimane performed well with the team, but the ambition is greater”. That hardly sounding like a vote of confidence in the man who just secured promotion for your club.

Now just after getting himself yet another job in the lucrative Middle Eastern region, at Al Wahda FC, rumours were circulating that Mosimane is poised to snap up former Bafana Bafana international Thulani Serero, who recently became a free agent.

But according to Soccer-Laduma, Mosimane has finally spoken out about the prospect of signing Serero to Al Wahda.

MOSIMANE NOT LOOKING AT SERERO JUST YET? SHOULD CHIEFS POUNCE?

“No, I’m not signing Serero now, not yet, I haven’t sat with the people on the table. I signed a contract [last Saturday] night. How could I talk about a team where I haven’t signed a contract [yet]? I had to be professional, and I also had to wait for the team to announce before I say anything, I can’t jump the gun. At that time, a lot of things were said, a lot of things needed to be done but we waited for the team,” Mosimane said to the same publication.

It is neither a definite no, nor a yes it seems, as Mosimane looks to be indicating that he has only just signed for Al Wahda therefore, hasn’t had the time to draw up a transfer wishlist that includes Serero or any other play for that matter.
