Rassie Erasmus has revealed the unacceptable level of hate the Springboks have been subjected to when shared proof of death threats made against Cobus Reinach and his young family.

No common knowledge that the French have not taken their quarter-final elimination, at the hand of the Springboks, well. Since that epic encounter and subsequent result, which sent the Springboks into the semi-finals and knocked the hosts out of the competition, there’s been widespread outrage and vile accusations made against the South African team.

However, the level of online abuse took a turn for the worse on Thursday when Rassie Erasmus shared a couple of screenshot in which death threats were made against Reinach and his young son.

Reinach, who plays his club rugby in France for Montpellier, received to vile messages: one directed at him and another one directed at his son with the second text also including a picture of the Springbok’s child.

The death threat messages roughly translates to the following:

“Dirty son of a bitch, I hope that when you return to Montpellier you get murdered by French people on the ground gang of thieves easy to win a title by cheating.”

The text which include a photo of Reinach junior reads: “Go die.”

Hulle weet nie wat ons weet nie.”
