SASSA payment dates: These grants can be collected TODAY

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) confirmed the various payment dates for February 2023 with children’s grants able to be collected today, Monday, 6 February.

SASSA PAYMENT DATES

SASSA said it had taken note of beneficiaries’ complaints about the previous payment schedule and made changes.

SASSA announced that if the second day of the month falls on a weekend or public holiday, the payment will take place on the following work day.

Older persons and the associated grants are paid first followed by disability grants and child grants (plus all other grants).

Older persons and their associated grants were paid out on Thursday, 2 February followed by disability grants on Friday, 3 February and children’s grants – plus all others – will be paid on Monday, 6 February as below:

Older persons – Thursday, 2 February

Disability grants – Friday, 3 February

Children’s grants – Monday, 6 February

SASSA beneficiaries can still collect their grants at South African Police Office (SAPO) branches.

Meanwhile, SASSA social grant beneficiaries have been urged to continue using their Postbank-issued gold cards and to use the multiple ways available to access their funds, including retailers and ATMs.

“Social grant clients with the gold card can continue using the same card as it remains valid at any place that accepts bank card transactions. Beneficiaries can also use the gold card at outlets nationwide that provide the cashback functionality, which includes Shoprite, Checkers, U-save, Pick ‘n Pay and Boxer,” the agency said.
